Vertical-Deep Hole Honing Machine

  • The deep-hole honing machine is designed for the inside honing of long hydraulic cylinder tubes, steel tubes and other deep bore workpieces.

    ·Ovality ≤ 0.02 mm, roundness ≤ 0.02 mm, and surface roughness Ra 0.2–0.4 μm.

    ·PLC digital control

    Parameters are adjustable, and the machine stops automatically at the end of the honing cycle.

    ·No-glue honing stones with mechanical clamping

    The honing stones do not need gluing and are mechanically clamped; when the stones are worn out, the machine stops automatically to protect the workpiece.

    ·Automatic detection and correction

    With automatic detection and correction, the machine can process and improve tubes with poor inner bore quality.

Basic structure of the machine :

  1. Bed section

    The bed consists of a workpiece bed and a carriage bed. Both are welded from thick-wall square steel tubes according to strict technical requirements. After welding, the bed is tempered and heat-treated to relieve overall welding stress, and then finish machined.

    Linear guideways are mounted on the carriage bed to provide long service life and high accuracy.

  2. Reciprocating carriage system

    An AC servo motor drives a pinion running on a rack to achieve the reciprocating movement of the carriage, with a speed of 1–35 m/min.

    The reciprocating carriage controls the reversing position of the honing head with high accuracy.

  3. Honing head expansion unit

    The honing head expansion is driven by a servo motor, with high and low pressure control modes to meet different pressure requirements for rough and finish honing.

  4. Carriage

    Two linear guideways are used between the carriage and the bed to minimize friction during reciprocating motion and improve motion efficiency.

    The honing spindle box is mounted on top of the carriage. A gearbox is mounted underneath and connected through a heavy-duty precision helical rack and pinion to transmit the reciprocating power.

    The Z-axis reciprocating movement is precise and reliable, with repeat positioning accuracy up to 0.01 mm, suitable for high-precision honing of through bores, blind bores and stepped bores.

  5. Cooling system

    Equipped with a magnetic oil filter.

  6. Honing spindle box

    A frequency-conversion spindle motor (11 kW) drives the main spindle gearbox, which transmits rotation and torque to the honing bar.

    Spindle speed range: 0–100 r/min.

  7. Electrical system

    The honing spindle speed and reciprocating speed are displayed digitally. A time relay is used to control the honing time.

    The electrical components are from Schneider.
